Fidelity Life Assurance was first incorporated in the United Kingdom as Legal and General (Pvt) Ltd. In 1936, Legal and General opened a branch in Bulawayo in the then Rhodesia. In 1988, a local consortium then bought the long-term assurance division and changed its name to Fidelity Life Assurance. Since inception, Fidelity Life Assurance has been offering superior and innovative assurance products. Over the years, Fidelity Life has been developing and continues to develop products and services that ensure that members receive maximum returns and adequate cover when they need it. Fidelity Life was listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in 2003 and later in 2005 became the first Insurance Company to be ISO certified. To this day we have managed to retain our ISO certification, as we endeavor to deliver quality service to our clients. Fidelity Life was one of the first Zimbabwean assurance companies to take opportunities in the region, which has also maximized shareholder value. This has seen the company grow to become a regional player in the life assurance and associated business arena. In the region Fidelity Life have operations in Malawi and Zambia, and is also hoping to spread its wings further into the region in the near future. Moreover we have had management contracts in Kenya and Angola. In addition to its core business of long-term assurance, Fidelity Life also has subsidiaries in related financial services fields offering: Medical Assurance Asset Management Services Funeral Assurance Financial Services All these subsidiaries are centered on the company’s core business that of Individual life assurance, employee benefits and pensions business which forms the core of the group’s activities. Group Overview Fidelity Life Assurance has been in the Zimbabwean insurance industry since 1936 under the name Legal and General. It was officially renamed to Fidelity Life Assurance in 1989 and has been offering superior and innovative assurance products since. The company has developed products and services over the years that ensure that their members receive maximum returns and adequate cover when they need it. Fidelity Life was listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in 2003 and later in 2005 became the first Insurance Company to be ISO certified. It still holds this certification which helps to ensure quality and consistency of service for customers. Over the years in its bid to protect the members from the difficult operating environment, Fidelity Life became one of the first assurance companies to take opportunities in the region, that have also maximized shareholder value. This has seen the company grow to become a regional player in the life assurance and associated business arena. In the region Fidelity Life has operations in Malawi under Vanguard Life Assurance Company and Cavmont Life and Asset Management Company in Zambia as well as a Management Contract in Angola. Fidelity Life is also hoping to spread its wings to Swaziland in the near future. In addition to its core business the company also has subsidiaries in related financial services fields offering, Medical Insurance, Asset Management Services and Funeral Assurance. All these subsidiaries are centered on the company’s core business that of Individual Life assurance, Employee Benefits and Pensions business which forms the core of the group’s activities.
