About us Firing up Zimbabwe The Nando’s cockerel entered the boarders of Zimbabwe in 1987 and Nandos Avondale was the first to open its doors to the people of Zimbabwe. After its revamp in 2011 it remains one of our most popular restaurants, with devoted, loyal customers! It didn’t take long for the word to get around or for the people of Harare to get addicted to spicing things up with a fix of flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken. Thanks to their passion for PERi-PERi, Nando’s spread across the main regions of Zimbabwe to ensure every region in the country gets the taste of the flame grilled PERi-PERi chicken. Today there are a 11 Nando’s restaurants serving succulent flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken with Afro-Portuguese inspired side dishes. Come try some! History of Nando’s in Zimbabwe The refurbishment is part of Nando’s drive to align all the Zimbabwean restaurants to the world class standards for which the international brand is renowned. Four restaurants received a hot new make-over in the programme that began in 2010 with the flagship at Avondale. 1987 - Nandos opens its first restaurant at Avondale. 2010 - A New Chick was hatched at Marimba. 2011 – Avondale, Speke & Jason Moyo in Bulawayo were revamped. 2012 – Brand new hatchlings at Samora Machel in Kwekwe and Mutare spreading the flame grilled PERi- PERi chicken to 2 more regions in the country. 2012 - Pomona received a new look. 2013 - Simon Mazorodze got its new make-over. 2015 – Cluck, Cluck we celebrate 20 years of the PERi-PERi flame grilled chicken touching the hearts and taste buds of the Zimbabwean people. 2015 - We continue the sprucing up and spread to new regions, watch the space and see us hatch. The Nando’s way Besides our legendary chicken, the one thing you’ll always find at Nando’s is a warm welcome that’ll make you feel right at home. And that’s not just because of our PERi-PERi! Each one of our restaurants has its own special design, but they all have earthy textures and colours that remind us of our sunny Afro-Portuguese roots and many feature original South African art and unique design touches. Cool Afro-Luso beats and friendly service add to the vibe, and then there’s the piece-de- resistance – our flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken that’s served on beautiful crockery.
